The superlative form is constructed by suffixing -est to most regular adjectives. Those adjectives that use 'mer' in the comparative use 'mest' instead in the superlative.
e.g. rig > rigest (rich > richest), broget > mest broget (varied > most varied)
When it comes to regular verbs, the preterite is formed by the suffixation of a dental -de (if the preceding sound is voiced) or -te (if preceding sound is voiceless) to the imperative form.
e.g. læs > læste (read > read), hav > havde (have > had)
